About Us

Gregan & Co is a boutique general insurance broking practice which specialises in retirement villages, motels, retailers, property owners, professionals and contractors including transport operators.

Our mission statement is to consistently deliver personal, efficient, high quality insurance broking advice and service to our clients, that exceeds their expectations, to enable them to focus on their business.

Gregan & Co was formed on 16 August 2004 by Mark Gregan, who is the founding shareholder and Managing Director.

Mark has more than fourty years insurance industry experience which includes more than thirty four years insurance broking experience of which fifteen years’ experience were with international insurance broking firms Minet and latterly Marsh. Prior to forming the company in 2004, Mark was a Branch Manager of Marsh. 

Initially, the business commenced in 2004 under the trading name of ODL Group Auckland with Gregan & Co becoming a cornerstone founding shareholder at that time. On the 17 December 2010, Gregan & Co acquired the entire business and assets and renamed the trading name to Gregan & Co to reflect 100% ownership.

In 2020, David Pike joined the firm on 16 March 2020, becoming an Executive Director on 29 May 2020 and shareholder on 26 May 2021.

David has more than thirty six years insurance industry experience which includes extensive insurance broking experience which includes working for international insurance broking firms Marsh and Aon. In addition, David worked for thirteen years (between 2003 to 2016) at Mike Henry Insurance Brokers as a Senior Broker and an equity Partner, before Mike Henry Insurance Brokers was acquired by Arthur J Gallagher & Co in April 2014. 

Gregan & Co has a sharp focus on our specialities, in the belief that we do what we do well. We are not a high volume transactional insurance broking firm and certainly, focus on offering a high quality insurance broking and advisory service to all of our clients.

We want our clients to feel we are working for them exclusively, personally, efficiently and at a high quality at all times.

While we do transact personal insurance for our existing clients or referred business, personal insurance is not our core business. Having said that, when we do transact personal insurance we provide a high quality offering that is transacted efficiently and done well.

While Gregan & Co are based in Auckland, New Zealand we have clients who are based throughout New Zealand from Northland and Southland, including a number of clients who are based in Australia.

Mark Gregan is registered as a Registered Financial Adviser on the Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR).

In addition, Gregan & Co are members of NZbrokers, Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand and Financial Services Complaints Ltd for the benefit of our clients.
